Milan – Stazione Garibaldi, Lombardy
by david
Here are some fotos taken from the windows of my tenth floor room. Milano is the economic capital of Italy. Many buildings going up. Everything is very expensive.
This next foto is the inside of my suite of rooms.
As is my habit, I walk from the hotel and take fotos as I go. I hope you enjoy the walk!
The Little Red Truck of Clothes…
Walking up to Kafka’s Castle: the newest center of all the building…
The brass tubes: On my way into the grand castle of Kafka, I came upon this sculpture. There is an explanation in Italian in the stone work at its base. On my way back, I asked an elderly couple to translate for me. These tubes run down to various levels of the complex. They allow one to speak into each end, sending the sounds all about the complex. The voices of the people being shared, heard throughout the plaza. Wonderful!
Here are the fotos of the couple who translated for me.
More of the castle grounds…
The Moats…
At this point in my walk (it was cold out), I ducked into a beautiful bookstore to change my frame of reference.
I have taken fotos of so much “wall art” and had been following his work in New York…
Really a fun point of my foto experience: Touring with The Grandmothers of Invention, performing the music of Frank Zappa, taking fotos of FZ’s book while in Milano. WOW!!!
Another very cool event: My foto shoot of their foto shoot on the pathway up to Kafka’s Castle.
